My grandma loved Detoxification, and I appreciated it when she made me a cup of delicious fruit tea with fresh lemon and honey. Although this was for sure no detox tea. When I have a cold, I enjoy drinking tea and at last, it gives me the feeling that it is good for my body. 🙂
Regardless of whether or not teas can detoxify your body, it has positive effects on your mind and body. I experienced this on my own and I am sure others have experienced the same. But let’s get more insight about detoxification.
1) What does detox mean?
Detoxing is the shortcut for detoxification and means; removal of toxic substances from the body. This body can be any living organism.
I personally always heard this synonym in combination with diets and illnesses, and I found it can be very misleading if you are not well-informed. There are two parties out there. One claims that detoxing is not necessary and the other party claims that it is okay to do it and at best right at this moment.
2) What are your personal experiences with detoxing?
For me, it does not matter to me if tea or a tasty smoothie cleanse my body. I want to feel better, fresher and more energized. My body gives me a signal that is positive, and I can feel a positive effect on my lifestyle.
Even if there are no scientific reviews that have confirmed that teas and smoothies have a detox effect on your body, maybe in need to dig deeper and if you have any studies you can share them at the end of this post, most of us will agree, that we feel good, when drinking them. And the mind is always connected to your body.
3) Chemical ingredients in all types of foods
It’s pretty standard that through the year we all hear announcements like,
– Dioxin in meat
– Aluminum in the water
– Chemical substances in fishes and grain
We could continue endlessly with that. We eat food, that is a chemical food itself. Those who have seen documentaries about fast food restaurants know what I mean. All the canned food has substances in it that makes it eatable over more than one year. So only this makes me suspicious when people talk negatively about detoxification while they sell food full of chemicals. But I want you decide for yourself. What is your feeling?
4) Impact on your health and weight – benefits of a detox diet?
The chances that you lose weight when detoxifying are higher. The impact of toxic overload can harm your body. This can lead to hormonal-related problems, inflammation, and weight gain. There are more negative things I could make a summary from but you get the point anyway.
If you want to lose weight in a naturally and efficiently, juicing and drinking tea is a great way to stay hydrated and increase your fruit intake. Further benefits are
– Tea contains less caffeine than coffee. You can also drink beverages without caffeine. This fact makes tea preferable to coffee.
– Tea is excellent for your mindset
– Juices feed your body with vitamins and taste delicious
– Various forms of teas are good for digestion, green tea for example.
– Tea helps to reduce stress
– Tea is a perfect substitute for water. Also during non-eating periods while intermittent fasting you can drink tea.
I do not want to talk about supplements because I have no experience at this point, and once I have it, I will refer to it.
All tea or smoothie lovers should definitely give detoxing a try. I only can admit trying it out yourself and build your own opinion about it.
